Sara Bingham of Brookfield, CT, believes her journey to graduate has been one of faith and perseverance. Growing up, Bingham dreamed of entering the healthcare field and following in her grandfather’s footsteps, so she enrolled in the Healthcare Management program at UMO at RTP following several setbacks. Bingham has gained valuable time management and multitasking skills which are very beneficial in her job as a patient coordinator at One Eighty Counseling in Garner and Cary.

Online Degree Programs for Adult Students

The University of Mount Olive announces our newest program and
inaugural doctorate degree, the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in
Educational Leadership (K-12 Supervision). Slated to begin Fall 2025, the
program is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Commission on Colleges. 

The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership prepares innovative, collaborative,
effective, and reflective educational leaders with the refinement of skills
and training necessary to advance in senior-level leadership positions in
K-12 education environments. Graduates will be prepared to cultivate
school and district environments to ensure equitable and quality learning
opportunities as well as continual program improvement. Delivered in a
hybrid model of instructional delivery through face-to-face and online
learning experiences, motivated and organized students can earn their
doctoral degree in as little as three years. A required internship takes
place during the sixth semester, providing practical application and
refinement of learned skills. The 60 credit hour program can be completed
in about three years, depending on time to complete the dissertation.

What makes the Ed.D. program unique?

The Ed.D. program at the University of Mount olive is structured as a cohort creating collegiality and a professional network for students.  The integrative dissertation in practice based approach provides time and guidance within courses for dissertation work.  Upon enrollment, all students will receive a laptop and will be able to keep the laptop upon program completion.
